Raghu Kochar is the Vice President of Communication at the Council for Healthcare and Pharma (CHP). He is a seasoned professional with close to 40 years of experience in marketing, advocacy, public relations, internal and external communication, both in a full-service agency and corporate settings.
Before joining CHP, Raghu was the Executive Vice President, Communication at Fortis Healthcare Limited, a position, he held for over five years. Fortis is among the largest and most respected hospital chains in India and at the time had a significant international footprint.
Raghu has deep domain knowledge of the health sector and has also worked extensively in the pharmaceutical industry. He has authored numerous white papers, articles, presentations and has created compelling content for print, digital and television consumption. He has counseled top management and CXO’s of large Fortune 500 corporations (across sectors), advising them on communication strategies relating to regulation, public policy, IP, market-entry, corporate strategy, M&A, investor relations, integration, crisis, reputation, brand and issues management.
Raghu has devised and executed successful end to end multi-media campaigns that have helped to further the business objectives of his clients and the companies he has served. He has held complete responsibility for internal and external communication, in complex global environments. Raghu has led experienced communication teams, across geographies, in generic pharmaceutical major Ranbaxy, IT top sliver company – HCL Technologies, premier Public Affairs and Public Relations firm – IPAN Hill & Knowlton, and the Indian Hotels Company, a part of the TATA Conglomerate, where he began his career. Raghu earned his MBA from the Faculty of Management Studies, University of Delhi, majoring in International Finance and Marketing.
